Summer 2024 Community Briefing page 2 1Omega Baptist Church leaders have completed another step toward their goal of redeveloping the 30-acre United Theological Seminary campus with community assets and services that meet neighborhood residents’ needs.

On June 12, public officials, church leaders and community members gathered for the demolition of Fout Hall, which had housed the seminary’s residence hall and administrative offices. After sitting empty for decades, the 60,000-square-foot building at 1800 Harvard Blvd. had deteriorated beyond repair.

The Land Bank was instrumental in bringing about the demolition, acquiring funding from the Ohio Department of Development to cover 75% of the $595,000 demolition cost. Omega will pay the rest.

In 2021, Land Bank staff provided church officials advice that led to savings of $30,000 on asbestos removal from Fout Hall.
